Explosion proof housings are typically used in petrochemical, industrial, aerospace and offshore industries and generally on sites where there is a risk of explosion because volatile gases, vapours, mists or dusts are present.

Threats of terrorist attacks on chemical plants and oil refineries and safety issues in the petrochemical, food & beverage and grain mill industries, call for video surveillance solutions which will not add to any existing risks of gases, vapours or dusts being ignited.

The Pelco ExSite™ Series are innovative integrated positioning systems that meet stringent explosion-proof requirements. Each system combines a receiver, pan/tilt, explosion-proof enclosure and integrated optics package with an auto-focus camera with programmable features.

There is a choice of a high-resolution camera with LowLight™ colour technology with 22x zoom lens (22x optical, 12X digital) or a high-resolution day/night camera with a removable infrared cut filter and 23x zoom lens (23x optical, 10x digital).

The housing is machined out of solid electropolished 316L stainless steel which makes it suitable for all kinds of environments including marine applications. The system has an absolute operating temperature range of -60degC to +60degC, and an option window wiper, is designed for minimum maintenance and has a two year continuous duty warranty.
